Balfolk Dance

Stevie brings infectious energy to their Balfolk Dance Workshops, guiding fun group and circle folk dances for all experience levels. Balfolk folk dance blends Breton, Scandinavian, and Basque traditions. Experience the joy of dancing in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere - perfect for beginners, anyone overwhelmed by choreography, or those with two left feet!

Hot Club Swing performs exciting and highly infectious French Gypsy Jazz. The music draws from an exotic palate of classical, jazz and Gypsy influences, that is eloquently French, starkly rustic or romantically Gypsy.

Oliver Gee from the acclaimed Paris podcast The Earful Tower shares unexpected ways Australia pops up in Paris. What did Banjo Paterson inspire in Paris? Part of our French cultural celebrations, these sessions showcase the rich musical heritage of French-speaking West African countries, where drumming is deeply woven into community life, storytelling and artistic expression.

200 Years of Photography

2026 marks the anniversary of the oldest surviving photograph, View from the Window at Le Gras, captured in 1826 by French inventor Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in Saint-Loup-de-Varennes, France, marking a remarkable beginning to photography. This exhibition explores historic images, techniques, and stories.
Celebrating the milestone, Le Festival Francais, in partnership with the French Embassy, is conducting the “Say Cheese” Photo Competition, with finalist entries showcased in the exhibition.

From romantic codes to colonial histories, the floral world reflects our complex past. Inspired by Charlotte de la Tour’s 1819 Le Langage des Fleurs, plants are examined through the lenses of sentiment, utility, and survival, bringing together objects from the National Trust collection alongside works by contemporary artists.

SOPHIE IN PARIS

From the page to the Louvre

Paris residents Oliver Gee and Lina Nordin Gee (the married duo behind the hit Earful Tower podcast) share behind-the-scenes stories of how they brought their five children's books from the page to the Louvre museum (and beyond). Self-publishing children's books may be easy, but how do you get them on the shelves of the most famous bookshops, museums, and department stores in Paris (... or perhaps the world?). Oliver and Lina will also give a glimpse into their brand new book: Sophie in Paris.

Join paper artist Leesa Cowan for a hands-on workshop showcasing the art of handmade paper flowers. In this one-hour session, you’ll create a classic red poppy, known in France as a coquelicot and famously painted by Claude Monet. Leesa will guide you step by step, sharing her techniques and creative approach. All materials provided, and you’ll take home your finished flower.
Leesa's stunning work will also be on exhibit inside the house across the weekend.
